The SARS virus has once again manifested it's ugly head in our lives.

2 workers from the local Pasir Panjang Fruits and Vegetable Wholesale market has been found to be infected. As a pre-caution, the market has been ordered to be closed for 10 days and the 2,400 workers of the market will be quarantined for the same period.

The end result? Not much vegetables and fruits at the wet market on Sunday.. prices have gone up by about 20% and there is even a slight possibility of it being inflated further as a result of consumer's frantic bulk buying.

I never really considered the virus a real threat but I have to admit that this incident of how the virus can disrupt our lives in so many ways, coupled with the fact that someone very dear to me came down with a slight fever (human nature to always assume the worst case scenario!), brought to light the reality of it all...
