Sitting at the back of the car Listening to the radio “A reporter had commented that Singapore should consider using foreign talents to participate in the Miss Universe Pageants” I thought it hilarious because it does hold some truth to it. Asian features may be associated with exoticism, But it may not be what most perceive as true beauty. The raging hormones and constant lust of inebriated men probably brought about this exoticism. Unfair? Perhaps. Of course, this is only my own perception. With the pale skin (with a slight yellow tinge); small slits as eyes A petite frame outlined by the typical long (and rebonded, of course!) black shiny mane Considering that majority of the judges of such pageants are probably from a non-Asian background, would any Asian contestants truly stand any chance in gaining a position amongst the top 10? Mmmm, I rest my case. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Sitting at the back of the car Listening to the radio I am looking out, towards the other cars Peering in, watching, observing, wondering Couples,Why is it that sitting in the car, you two always seem to be engrossed in your own thoughts? Hardly speaking to one another; The driver drives, the passenger busy with reading the papers or putting on make up. What happened to the excitement of chitter chatters? The need and want to share, to hear each other's thoughts. Lone drivers,What is it that you do? Do you have a family? What are they like? Are you happy? Are you worry and debt free? Stranger,I’d like to reach over and tap you on your shoulder, To share a moment, even if for a fleeting moment, what you are thinking right this very instant? Self, Why is it that you sit at the back of the car, listening to the radio, taking on the role of an observer, questioning everything in sight yet avoiding the questions that hang above your own head.
