For 15 minutes I was a mini-tour guide to a gentleman from Isreal. He had only 1 day in Singapore and he wanted to see as much as he could. "Where's the best place to go? Sentosa?" "Um, not really, it's very tourissy (in which I meant, expensive) Maybe the Night Safari or Little India might be more interesting?" He was on his way to where I work to see the world's biggest indoor fountain. Unfortunately, the fountain is under repair. But he will be catching the Singapore "Hop-on" bus for a couple of dollars and see most of Singapore from behind the glass windows. He was on his way to Australia and from what I gathered from our short conversation, he was on a leisure/business trip selling a special patented type of tooth brush... hmm! "Is it easy to sell such a thing in Singapore?" "Well, possibly, since Singaporeans are getting more health conscious" I was short of saying Singaporeans are suckers for anything new but I held my tongue. I'd like to think he would have a good impression of where I grew up. For 15 minutes, I felt particularly proud to call myself a Singaporean.
