I was at the coffeeshop across my flat having roti prata for breakfast (yum! and it only cost me S$1.20 for 2 as opposed to AUS$7 for one! hehehe) and I noticed an elderly old lady moving from table to table asking for money.

Some people gave, most ignored her. I also noticed that she only approached men sitting by themselves or tables with men.

and I wondered WHY? I was prepared to give her money if she approached me but she walked past me *twice*. Maybe I looked like I couldn't very well afford the $2 she was asking for! (Maybe I looked really grumpy .. or something, which isn't really the issue here!)

It got me thinking: are men perceived to be more generous than women??

Personally, I think most men are *seemingly* more generous because they won't refuse to help. But that said, I know of some guys who are real misers at heart.. I'm just wondering why that lady never approached women for money. Are women not as generous or willing to part with money ?

MacDonalds (Singapore) will be offering Nasi Lemak (coconut rice, served with egg, chicken and cucumber slices) as part of their breakfast menu for S$3.50 starting tomorrow. That's alot of money for very little value.

Ergh!

Down with fast food!
