Happy Lunar New Year to those who celebrate it.

Somehow, the lunar new year from the year of the horse to the year of the goat seems more significant than the celebration of 2002 to 2003. There's something about feasting on homemade pineapple tarts (albeit very sinful, but "oh so delicious!"), the wonderful (very much missed) taste of shanghainese rice cakes, braised mushrooms with "hair moss", steamed fish, fruits, not forgetting the all important "lou hei" for prosperity and good forture for the new year and a wonderful chocolate cake for a birthday celebration.

Before I know it, I will be packing and belongings, sorting, sieving, what will be taken and what will be left behind

Onwards to a new life...!

In the meantime, I'll be worrying about jobs, accommodation and money. Independence? Freedom? Yes, but it all comes with a price of not having security and stability.

I don't like leaving my already established comfort zone, but it is something that has to be done... it was written a long long time ago that this will be the path I take.

I only wish it came with an instruction manual.
